One of the lies we can believe about the Christmas story is that MARY is nothing like you.

Mary is an ORDINARY, unwed peasant teenager.

The Promise to Mary

v. 28, 30

Mary BELIEVES she’s favored by God.

The PROMISE to Mary is the promise to you.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Favor vs. Entitlement

Mary was favored by God not ENTITLED to her role in the story.

The shadow-side to entitlement is the FEAR of not being good enough.

Exodus 34:5-7

Jesus reveals the God Mary always KNEW.
