Like Father, Like Son | FOR
Did you know that Jesus got ANGRY?
Mark 3:1-6 (pg. 1,555)
v.1 “Another time, Jesus went into the synagogue and a man with a SHRIVELED HAND was there.”
v.2 “Some of THEM were looking for a reason to ACCUSE Jesus, so they watched Him closely to see if He would HEAL this man on the SABBATH.”
“RELIGION that God our Father ACCEPTS as pure and faultless is this: To look after ORPHANS and WIDOWS in their DISTRESS and to keep oneself from being POLLUTED by the world.” – James 1:27
v.3 “Jesus said to the man with the shriveled hand, STAND UP in front of EVERYONE.”
v.4 “Jesus asked them: Which is LAWFUL on the SABBATH:
- To do GOOD
- To do EVIL
- To SAVE life
- To KILL
Is the law of God for the BENEFIT of GOD or Is the law of God for the BENEFIT of those God LOVES?
“Then Jesus said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, NOT man for the Sabbath.” – Mark 2:27
v.4 “But they remained SILENT.”
v.5 “He looked around at then in ANGER and deeply DISTRESSED at their STUBBORN hearts, and said to the man, stretch out your HAND. He stretched it out and his hand was completely RESTORED.”
“Jesus, show us the FATHER. Jesus said, Don’t you know ME…even after I have been among you for such a long time.” John 14:8-9
v.6 “THEN the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might KILL Jesus.”
Jesus DIDN’T get ANGRY when He didn’t get HIS way.
Jesus got ANGRY, when people WOULDN’T go out of their way to HELP those who are SUFFERING.
Follow ME.
God’s extravagant GENEROSITY towards US, compels us to be extravagantly GENEROUS towards OTHERS.
