Beautifully, Fearfully & Wonderfully Made
Psalm 139:13-17, Colossians 1:13-18
Movies and literature borrow truths from the greatest story ever told, God’s story – the BIBLE.
Life’s big questions:
Who AM I?
What was I MADE for?
Where do I BELONG?
Lacking social CONNECTION is as dangerous to your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
Who are we looking to in order to help us answer our biggest questions of BELONGING, PURPOSE, and IDENTITY?
“For you CREATED my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb… I PRAISE you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Psalm 139:13-17
When we focus on who made us and how He made us, His CHARACTER.
We find EVERYTHING else.
The problem with moralist, therapeutic, deism is that it is not the FAITH of the Bible and it does nothing to help us answer the question what was I MADE for.
Jesus says “I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life.”
John 14:6
We were made for RELATIONSHIP with our creator.
Colossians 1:13-14
We were made to bring Him GLORY, to IMAGE Him to the world.
To the extent we FIND our Creator we will find our design and our purpose.
Abigail, Deborah, Huldah, Esther, Lois, Priscilla, Mary Magdalene
The Bible presents us with the stories of many different WOMEN who serve God in many different ways. None were PERFECT but all allowed God to work through them.
“…this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the BEAUTY of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4 NIV)
Read your BIBLE, It is not what you think!
